This Year we have the honor of being designated the HOST STATE for the Nationals. This is the first year in history that Colorado has been asked to host. This honor presented to Colorado is a testament of our commitment to Fiddling.
|
We will have many duties as host state that we will reverently perform : - Play at every opening of the nightly shows (Be in warm up room by 6:15 dressed respectivly) Saturday we Perform at 6:00 - be in warm up room at 5:45 - Perform at various community events around town (Watch for schedules) - The town of Weiser will provide us with a decorated Float in which we will ride in at the Parade
Recognition we will receive includes : A write up in the contest program and acknowledgment in the Hall of Fame. Pictures are scheduled for Wednesday - watch schedule
Organization: - Performance duties will be posted in the warm up room on a dry erase board each day - We will devide into groups to delegate community performance duties - these groups will include All fiddler's from Colorado. - We will need a Colorado Flag and our Cotfa Banner for the float . I would also like to display our flag on stage at the nightly performances. - Nightly performances should be loosely planned..... I think we should do one night as a kids night...we probably will do a glow bow thing. I would like to have a "Colorado Pride" night in Carterville and invite everyone from Colorado to Carterville for dinner.
I will post a schedule before Weiser and AT Weiser in Carterville.

Last year we shared in a truly special experience ...the camp was calm and inviting. We received much recognition and praise. We should feel proud of our conduct and our achievements. We made new friends and shared times with old friends. We demonstrated support for each other as well as our Weiser friends. It is wonderful how we could all work together at camp and in performance to make our group visible as a positive entity at Weiser. I am so very proud and honored to have you as my friends!
Thank You!

IMPORTANT NOTE:
| Families - PLEASE don't leave Weiser early. As the host state I expect that we will all support each other and be available to help with the duties that have been bestowed upon us. Please consider all the hard work that has always been put into setting up and organizing Carterville. The saturation that occurs after experiencing a full week of fiddling is often just what your child needs to reach the next level of understanding. Please consider this: leaving shortly after your division is done, reflects poorly on our group. |

Letter From John & Stella
| Greetings
Everyone!
It's once again time to think about bellying up to the buffet and stuffing ourselves silly! Stella & I will once again be making the trip, and look forward to being with all of you again! Upon reviewing last year's event, there are not a lot of changes we plan on making. We will arrive in camp Tuesday afternoon, and plan on making dinner for everyone Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday night. Menus for Tuesday through Thursday night are attached, and we will once again play Friday night by ear (hey! It's a Fiddle Jam, after all!) using what we have left and getting whatever else we need to make a great meal. Caitlyn, Stella & I will be leaving early Saturday morning as I have a big picnic to supervise in Denver Sunday afternoon. I'm sure Caitlyn & Stella will argue all the way home, fighting for the front seat and driving me nuts. Not really looking forward to that leg of the trip..... The menus all have vegetarian options, and are more kid friendly than they may sound. I will also have vegetarian burgers and hot dogs available to appease those who need appeasing, so to speak. As long as you don't piss Stella off (trust me - not a good idea!) most special requests will be accommodated with a smile. My costs have gone up a bit this year, thus so have yours. Adult meals are $12.00 each, Kids under 10 are $6.00 each. I will need all money in by June 161' in order to get my orders placed & shopping done. Checks or cash can be given to either myself or Denice.Lastly, I will need a couple of folks to assist with transporting equipment, much like we did last year. If you would like to volunteer, or have any questions, concerns or requests I can be reached at (303) 916-7419 or emailed at Johnnyoh2004(ayahoo.com. Thank you all! We look forward to helping make this year at Weiser a memorable week enjoyed by all! John & Stella
